The Angela Fleischman lab at UC Irvine is dedicated to understanding the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative neoplasms  (MPN or MPD) which includes polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, myelofibrosis). Our focus is on the role of inflammation in MPN.

Eli completed his honors bachelor’s and master’s in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, where his research focused on the mechanism of action of breast cancer therapeutics. Eli then started medical school at UCI in 2020, joining the Fleischman lab soon after. His PhD dissertation investigated the mechanism of Interferon alfa (IFNα) response in MPN and to identify predictors of response.
